Will & Grace's Megan Mullally comes out as bisexual
by John Graves
Actress Megan Mullally; who plays the outrageous and so-far-straight Karen on NBC's hit gay-straight sitcom Will & Grace, came out proudly bisexual in the cover feature interview in the November 23 issue of the Advocate.
Mullally told the magazine, which had placed her at the top of its list of 25 Coolest
woman, just a couple of what I'd term halfassed dalliances. So I haven't explored it to the degree that I'd like to, but I'll tell you. I'm open to it."
In the interview, Mullally also revealed that she has had serious relationships with two "extremely" gay men that did not include sex but were romantic to the point that both she and the men felt they were in love.

People Of Color Council
tional Council of Catholic Bishops, has rejected an appeal published this past week in the National Catholic Reporter to restore Sr. Jeanine Gramick and Fr. Robert Nugent to their long-term ministry to the LGBT community.
The petition; signed by over 4,500 LGBT Catholics, their friends and their families, including Detroit bishop Thomas Gumbelton, was placed by New Ways Ministry, which Gramick and Nugent founded. It also called on the church to begin a real reconciliation with LGBT Catholics by eliminating the offensive and insensitive words such as "evil" and “intrinsically disordered” in describing lesbians and gays actually living fully as lesbian and gay people.
In his statement, Fiorenza reiterated the Vatican's position that Gramick and Nugent were barred from the New Ways Ministry they founded because their ministry did not "fully reflect the constant teaching of the church that homosexual activity is intrinsically disordered." Fiorenza went on to "reaffirm our [the National Council of Catholic Bishops] intention to minister to persons with homosexual inclinations according to the mind of the church."

Is Andrew here to stay?
"Andrew" is the name of a new gay character on Beverly Hills 90210, but I don't know if he's a regular or recurring character, or just another one-hit wonder.
He works at a community center that receives a good portion of its funding from Dylan. Andrew and Dylan were attacked in a gay bashing, but Andrew didn't want to make a police report out of fear for his job.
Andrew was outed after the community center director stopped by to see how he was and noticed that he and his "roommate" shared a one-bedroom apartment. When the center director ordered the only slightly injured Andrew to take an extended leave, Dylan threatened to end his financial aid to the center. Andrew was reinstated, but the center director refused to allow her children to be coached by him.
When the director's bigoted stance led to some other parents refusing to let their children be coached by him, Andrew decided to leave the center "for the good of the kids." What's next? Your guess is as good as mine.

Eighties boys return with something for everyone
Nightlife
Pet Shop Boys Sire
Reviewed by Michelle Tomko
Feather that hair and roll up your best pair of acid-washed jeans because the Pet Shop Boys are back with Nightlife, a new CD with something for everybody. The dynamic duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe do their best bride impersonation with this album. They give us something old: their trademark synthesizer sound and dance beats in "New York City Boy" and "Radiophonic”; something new: as opposed to singing about women as in their 1985 hit "West End Girls," here Sylvia Mason James and fellow '80s pop star Kylie Minogue add some estrogen to "Happiness is an Option" and "In Denial"; something borrowed: look out k.d. fans, Spanish rhythms and acoustic guitar can be heard in "Boy Strange," and something blue: true to form, Nightlife is chock full of co-dependent unrequited love lyrics and reflection on the malaise of gay relationships.
